The Proper Way To Peel A Banana?

Are you peeling your bananas correctly?

Perhaps you think that is a bizarre idea and I've lost the plot. After all, everybody knows that there is only one way to peel a banana - it is the way I have been peeling them for the past (too many) years and it would be ludicrous to imagine there could be any other way. But, now you come to mention it, is it the only way?

Well surprisingly not. You could have knocked me sideways when it was suggested by my 10 year old daughter that peeling from the bottom was easier. What? I've been peeling from the stalk end ever since I was old enough to feed myself so surely I would have known about it if it was true. Perhaps I should have done, but I didn't.

Of course, once I heard about the 'new' peeling technique I was eager to give it a try – if only to prove it wasn't easier at all. I obtained a hand of finest bananas at the earliest opportunity, which just happened to be during the weekly shop the following day, and (once I got them home) keenly snapped off one of the fruit to give it a try.

Was it easier? I suggest you try it for yourself, but needless to say I am now a devotee of upside down banana peeling.

But what has all of this fruity nonsense got to do with making and saving money online? Quite simply that there is more than one way to go about things and sometimes a bit of lateral thinking can reap dividends. Don't assume that because many are raving about Google Adsense or affiliate marketing or selling ebooks that they are the only ways of making Internet riches. And don't get stuck in a rut or be afraid of change. Just because we have been doing something a particular way for a long time doesn't mean there is no better way to accomplish the task.

So to finish for today – try it upside down, back to front, inside out, any which way you can. But make sure you try it, because you never know: It just might work!
